Another Award for Il Centro at Prix Versailles 2017

This spring at the Prix Versailles, Design International was awarded for their design of "Il Centro" within the ‘Interior Shopping Mall’ category.

The ceremony was held at UNESCO's headquarters in Paris, in the presence of an international jury chaired by François de Mazières, Mayor of Versailles, and other international architects and designers such as Manuelle Gautrand, Guo Pei, Toyō Itō, Gilles Lipovetsky, Guy Savoy, Wang Shu and Minja Yang.

Now in its third edition, and backed by the International Union of Architects and UNESCO, the Prix Versailles Award is one of the most recognized, international, retail architecture awards, celebrating the best projects in the industry. This year there were over 70 winners from five major countries; a true reflection of how cultural and aesthetic diversity intertwines with each other. It is an initiative to promote dialogue between economics and culture, recognizing the immense contribution of commercial architecture to society.

Projects were evaluated against quality of the interior and exterior architecture, the ability to propose the mall as an inspirational model, and the desire to adopt a sustainable approach. Davide Padoa, our CEO, said: "Receiving the Versailles Prize for Il Centro, in Arese, is a great emotion for me. It is a great pleasure to be awarded with one of the most prestigious international awards for a project involving Arese, the city where I grew up. Working alongside Dr. Marco Brunelli of Finiper has been an important life and professional lesson that I will always cherish."
