Design International honoured at the Global RLI Awards 2020

Once again this year, despite the havoc that Covid-19 created around the world, RLI (Retail & Leisure International), the global magazine that covers both retail and leisure sectors, wanted to maintain the traditional appointment with the sector and its most qualified representatives by awarding the prestigious RLI Awards 2020.

An international jury selected and awarded the 2020 winners of the 15 different categories in competition, ranging from commercial to entertainment projects, from developers to architectural firms.

Design International participated in two categories: “Most Anticipated Opening” and “Designer of the Year”. Silicon Central, a shopping destination that will open before the end of the year in Dubai, has received an Honorable Mention for the Most Anticipated Opening, and our firm has won the highly coveted Designer of the Year category. With this recognition, the jury wanted to reward Design International for its ability to understand new trends and apply technological innovations in the creation of projects that are truly tailor-made for clients and their users (tenants but above all people).

Upon receiving the award, Davide Padoa, CEO of Design International, said: "This award has a special value since it has arrived at the end of such a difficult period for the whole world and I hope it will give confidence and hope to all those who, like us, work every day to create and manage projects of great social impact. These awards fill the entire Design International Team, which even during the lockdown period has been able to maintain the unity of purpose and consistency of values, with pride and honor. I would therefore like to thank all the staff of Design International, the real recipients of these awards, with particular reference to those who had to experience a period of isolation far from home. This year we are celebrating 55 years, and these awards come at just the right time".
